Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Auto Body Specialist to join our dynamic body shop team to supervise our team of skilled technicians.. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, performing repairs on a variety of vehicles after collisions, and restoring them to pre-accident condition. This position requires expertise in body repair, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair techniques based on work orders and industry standards
  • Repair and replace damaged vehicle parts, including panels, fenders, doors, hoods, frames, and bumpers
  • Remove dents, fill creases, and straighten bent frames using specialized tools and equipment
  • Sand, prime, and mask repaired areas to prepare them for painting
  • Handle removal and installation of vehicle components such as trim, glass, and interior parts as needed for repair work
  • Utilize welding, cutting, and finishing tools to complete structural and cosmetic repairs
  • Collaborate with estimators and insurance adjusters to provide accurate assessments and updates on repair progress
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment
  • Keep detailed records of work performed on each repair order
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and tools
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with team members and customers as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in auto body repair preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience as an auto body technician, collision repair technician, or similar role
  • Proficient in auto body repair techniques, frame straightening, dent removal, welding, and use of repair tools and equipment
  • Familiar with plastic/composite repairs and minor paint touch-ups
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, repair estimates, and technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to lift, carry, and operate heavy machinery/tools as required by the job
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • I-CAR or ASE certification highly desirable
  • Experience with current vehicle materials and repair techniques, including aluminum and composites
  • Familiarity with computerized estimating and repair tracking systems
